Holiday Party Tips
Creative Ways to Cut Costs

1.  If costs are getting out of hand, consider reducing your guest list.

2.  Consider holding your event in a family member's or friends home rather than somewhere that requires a site fee.

3.  Consider holding a morning or afternoon party or host your party during the week.  Most popular venue sites will charge top dollar for Saturday nights.

4.  Offer  cocktails and simple hors d' oeuvres rather than a full meal.

5.  Consider self-catering at which food would be served buffet style.  If you currently do not own beautiful servicing dishes borrow them from friends rather than rent.  Liqour and food can be purchased from wholesalers.

6.  Chicken and pasta are less expensive alternatives, as it in-season food.

7.  Have a cash bar rather than a hosted "open" bar.

8.  If using a banquet hall or other type of facility, check to see if they will allow you to bring in our own alcohol.

9.  Control alcohol consumption by serving it all at once at pre-established times.

10.  Get friends to help you serve food instead hiring staff members.

11.  For every 75 to 100 people you will need one bartender.
